“What does a kindergarten in the USA actually look like?" Institutions, concepts, structures and practices of child education largely depend on cultural, social and political conditions. We will take a closer look at these factors in the US. A comparison of early childhood education systems in various European and transatlantic countries also provides a new perspective on childhood education in Germany.

Michelle Grant-Groves is a seasoned presenter, facilitator, and design coach. Her expertise for collaborative design and equity-focused leadership in early education and developmental psychology spans over two decades, both in the US and abroad. Michelle holds a bachelor of arts in Research and Policy, from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in Leadership Development from Mills College, including postgraduate research in equity-centered assessments and evaluations. Michelle is both a national and international college instructor, and is founder and executive director of the Center of Gravity, a STEM-based early education school, and the i3 Institute ECE Consulting Group.
